Request SecureObs account deletion

Last updated: 27 June 2026

SecureObs accounts and records are controlled and managed by the healthcare or care organisation that uses the app. SecureObs does not independently decide whether that organisation's accounts or records should be deleted and cannot delete them on the organisation's behalf.

How to notify your organisation

  1. Use the account or data request option provided in the SecureObs app to notify your organisation's management.
  2. State that you are asking the organisation to review deletion of your SecureObs staff account and associated personal data.
  3. The organisation's management will verify your identity and decide what action it can take under its policies and legal responsibilities.

If you no longer have access to the app, contact your employer's management, SecureObs administrator, IT service desk, or information-governance team directly. SecureObs does not receive or determine the outcome of these requests.

What the organisation may manage

The healthcare or care organisation, not SecureObs, determines whether it can deactivate or delete information such as:

Records the organisation may need to retain

Healthcare organisations may be unable to delete some information because they must protect patients, maintain accurate records, investigate security events, or meet legal and regulatory obligations. This may include:

The organisation decides how long these records must be retained under its health-records, safeguarding, audit, and legal retention policies. SecureObs does not set that retention period.

Responsibility for the outcome

The app provides a way to notify the relevant organisation. Any decision to deactivate an account, delete information, retain records, or respond to the user is made and carried out by that organisation. Sending a notification does not guarantee that data will be deleted.
